The things people say…

After the high school season concludes, there is a special match (The Metro Classic) where the best seniors in the Kansas City area from the Kansas side wrestle the best from the Missouri side. Although my son finished second in the state, he was not invited.

A friend who coaches wrestling recently attended the Kansas Metro Classic team’s practice and asked why my son wasn’t on the team. It turns out that the head coach of the team had never even heard of him. That is understandable since he is so new to the sport.

However, another older coach told my coaching friend that my son is a “wild card”! When my coaching friend asked why, there was no explanation; just an declaration that he is a “loose cannon”!

My son, who doesn’t drink, smoke, do drugs, mess with women, studies hard enough to be a candidate for the National Honor Society, attends church regularly and is respectful to authority, is a “loose cannon” and the guy who was suspended from school for fighting or the young man who is on parole that ARE on the team are not?

Proof that you can not please all of the people all of the time.
