Several weeks ago, I had to buy tires for Wild Bill, my old F150. As is the norm, things did not go as smoothly as I had hoped.
I bought a set of tires and rims only to discover that they didn’t fit!
So, I had to buy 3 more tires.
I finally got around to putting the tires [...]

Never a doubt

I left work today with my last trip to Texas still on my mind. Internally, I was warming my leg for the whole drive up just in case I needed to kick myself.
It was worth it.
I made the right decision.
The hour drive to Agency, MO proved fruitful.
I drove through some very beautiful country and learned quite [...]

Wild Bill threw a shoe recently. When we (really my wife and kids) have had to use the truck, we have been driving on a spare.
My son, always trying to be helpful, went out of his way on several occasions to point out that two of the remaining three tires don’t look all that hot. [...]

Many years ago, I read in the Psalms that God daily loads us with benefits. At the time, all I could see were problems. If the [...]

There were several delays before he got his day in court. He had to be rejected by the people of California. Then he had to suffer the same hardship in Kansas and Missouri.
But finally, by a four to three decision, Wild Bill was released from his California prison. There was a judge representing each state (CA, [...]

My wife called me this evening to see if I was going to pick up the kids from school. I told her that I was just leaving the storage facility and couldn’t make it in time so she went to get them.
When I got home, I waited for her to return with my two younguns so [...]

Surprise!

My son turned 18 today. Just like his father, he forgot that fact so his boss scheduled him to work tonight.
But, having had much practice at making lemonade (you know, turn your lemons into…), we decided to surprise him by having his party at the pizzeria!
Cakes, my youngest daughter, has been surreptitiously (right click and [...]

I however, wanted to take my wife out to dinner, so…
My son decided to take the old F-150, named Wild Bill to the game. Before they left, they put the new seat covers that he made on and [...]

A chip off the old block?

They say that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Well, tonight, I don’t know if that is such a good thing.
My son is making new seat covers for our old, beat up F-150! I mean, he has a sowing machine out and is sowing plastic clips onto the fabric! I am actually impressed!
I [...]

There is a tremendous irony to my dependable, old truck breaking down this afternoon.
My wife is leaving for California for one week. She will visit her parents for a few days and then join two friends in Big Bear for three days of talking and fellowship. I am calling it Yakfest 2 since the three [...]
