Is it just my imagination or are things getting really expensive? I got our family truck fixed for a total cost of $863. While that is much cheaper than $1,350, it’s still a bunch of money.
And to top it off, the shop near our house quoted me $656 to fix my old truck! All it needs is a tune-up (it’s old!) and a new distributor.
The same guy who fixed our family truck is going to fix the old one for $330. I’ll tell you, I am glad that he came with the guy who quoted the paint job on my T-Bird!!! He has saved me nearly $800!
I guess I have been very fortunate until now. I had the same mechanic for the past 19 years in CA. He was always reasonable and honest. Here, it seems that every time I pull into a shop, it’s a thousand dollars. I’ve got to find a few money trees and get them planted quickly.
