Welcome to Dallas

Jennifer showed up at my hotel wearing a black top, white shorts and white sweatshirt and baseball cap. She thought that it would warm up like it did yesterday…It never did.

We had breakfast at Cafe Brazil this morning. The place was packed with both nuclear and extended families. It was great to see.

Jennifer’s outfit, while not immodest, definitely did not fit in with the standard “just got out of church” attire that prevailed. I don’t know if it is my imagination, but it seems that the standard social protocol here in Dallas is to give strangers the critical “once over” followed by the insincere, overly hospitable, big smiling southern “Hi.”
