The pain of success

I called the wrestling coach at Drexel University and told him about my son’s rapid progress. He is definitely interested in learning more. He wants me to send him video footage.

He doesn’t have any athletic scholarship money available this year but his 165 pounder graduates in June, 2010. That would give Big A one year to train with the team as a “walk on” and then become a scholarship athlete.

While this university looks to be the perfect place for my son, the thought of him moving so far away fills my heart wth sadness. I will keep working on this because I think that it is best for him. But the more success that I have in moving things along, the closer he gets to leaving.

Growing up is often difficult.
